My Thoughts

We are a homeschool family and love adding new products to our homeschool library. The Scholastic Storybook Treasures are a great addition to any home or public library. The read-along feature is included as a bonus in Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin and a special interview with the art author/illustrator Patrick McDonnell. Also, you can view The Dot, Ish, and Amazing Grace in Spanish. This particular DVD is geared towards children ages 4 to 8.

Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin ... and more stories for young musicians share six delightful stories: Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin, Musical Max, The Star-Spangled Banner, Keeping House, Patrick, and Apt. 3.
"The Star Spangled Banner" is a wonderful story to share with our children. The history of it is very interesting and important to teach our students. Learn more about how a poem by Francis Scott Key became a wonderful icon for America. Listen as Arthea Franklin sings this glorious song.

The Dot  ... and more stories for young artists consists of five stories: The Dot, Ish, ART, Norman the Doorman, and Wallace's Lists. Each are are perfect for opening the eyes and encouraging the lil' artist hidden inside your child.

Shrinking Violet ... and more stories for young performers has four stories: Shrinking Violet, Three Cheers for Catherine the Great!, Giraffes Can't Dance and Amazing Grace.

My daughter enjoyed watching Giraffes Can't Dance. Everyone seems to know how to dance except Gerald the giraffe. He thinks he is different. Find out how he learns to boogie too.

I do recommend this DVD set for anyone that wants to share the love of art, dance and performance in their own child.
