My Story Bible 66 Favorite Storiesby Jan Godfrey & Paola Bertolini Grudina
Tyndale/2009/Hardcover
Publisher’s Description:
This is a true story book. The 4-color bright and charming art will attract kids, but the way the writer makes the beloved 66 Bible stories come alive will keep them coming back. The book is written from a storyteller’s perspective; the imaginative writing makes the characters from the Bible come alive and piques kids’ interest about the word of God. The repetitive style helps kids remember the stories.
About Authors:
Jan Godfrey, retired school teacher and pastor’s wife, is a born story teller. She is an experienced writer and loves to write stories for children.
Graphic Designer and children‘s book illustrator, Paola Bertolini Grudina, lives with her husband and children in Italy. Her illustrations are inspired by her own Christian faith.
Summary: My Story Bible is a wonderfully illustrated Bible story book geared towards children ages 3 to 6. There are 66 stories posted and each story is indexed in the back of the book along with a scripture reference for each story.
Thoughts:
I had a swell time reading many of the stories to my four year old daughter. She was excited by the beautiful illustrations. She enjoyed pointing to the characters and making comments about each story.
“A New Follower of Jesus” was among one of her favorite story illustrations because she liked the horse that Paul was laying beside when the bright light shone out of the sky. She enjoyed the story of “Little Baby Moses” because I let her say the “WAAHHH!” parts when baby Moses was crying. She also liked it because a pretty princess saved baby Moses from being killed by the King. We had a hard time putting the book away because she wanted me to read it all to her at one sitting. Giggles.
Recommendations:
I recommend this book because it is a wonderful way to share many of the Bible stories with your little ones.
